Discovery Silver is Mexico’s leading silver-focused explorer/developer. We are advancing our flagship Cordero project and have a pipeline of highly prospective future growth projects, all located in the home of the world’s largest producer of silver.
The Puerto Rico project is a large, multi-target carbonate replacement silver-zinc-lead mining district that has historically produced approximately one million tonnes of shallow, high-grade, direct-shipping ore. There has been no modern exploration or drilling carried out at Puerto Rico. Discovery Silver controls approximately 350 square-km of mineral rights covering a 6km long trend of historic mines with hydrothermal alteration, as well as prospective structural extensions of known mineralization. The project is currently in the drill-permitting process. Three historic mines comprise the project: the Puerto Rico Mine, the San Jose Mine, and the Zaragoza Mine.

The Minerva project is located 230km west northwest of the city of Melchor Muzquiz in Coahuila State, Mexico, 30km west of the La Encantada silver mine owned by First Majestic Silver Corp., and within 20-100km of Discovery’s other pipeline projects. Minerva encompasses Ag-Pb-Zn mineralization hosted in skarns, mantos, chimneys and breccias similar to those found at La Encantada. Discovery has carried out the first significant modern exploration program on three main areas of historical workings, known as Mina Minerva, Concordia and Tercia. All three areas have been subject to artisanal mining, with the most extensive historical workings at Mina Minerva.
The Monclova project, located 25km southwest of the city of Monclova, is characterized by a large and highly prospective composite stock that has intruded into the Cretaceous limestone of the Aurora formation. The Monclova intrusive complex is characterized by a series of intrusions of mainly intermediate composition and has numerous mineral prospects within and surrounding the 12km-sq intrusive stock. Historically, artisanal miners have extracted Ag-Pb-Zn and Cu-Au-Fe ores primarily hosted in mantos, veins and skarns. Discovery has carried out the first significant modern exploration program on two main zones of historical workings and mineralization called the Real Viejo and the Soledad areas.
